Chairman of the National Assembly meets Director of the Office of UN Envoy in Aden the capital

The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council, Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, met today, Monday, at the Assembly's headquarters, with Mr. Marwan Ali, Director of the Office of the UN Envoy in the capital, Aden.

The meeting included the Vice-Chairmen of the National Assembly, lawyer Niran Souki, and Mr. Lotfi Shatara, members of the Presidency of the Council, and Dr. Anis Luqman, in which Major General bin Brik expressed his pleasure in this meeting, reassuring Mr. Marwan Al-Ali, of his health, and praising the joint cooperation between the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council and the Office of the UN envoy in the capital, Aden, as well as the distinguished role that the office played throughout the previous period.

The meeting reviewed the events and changes in the political arena, in addition to the suffering of the southern governorates in all fields, in light of the failure of the government to perform its duty towards the citizens.

In meeting, Major General bin Brik said: "We are going through the last stage, and this requires us to tighten our determination and concerted efforts to deal with it in particular, and we are in the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council represented by President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, we are still extending our hands in order to complete the implementation of the provisions of the Riyadh Agreement, and on full knowledge and comprehensive follow-up of the outcomes and their acceleration on the ground."

The Chairman of the National Assembly shed light on the case of refugees and their involvement in the military field, as well as their incitement to carry out terrorist operations against the southern forces by some influential forces that do not want security and stability to prevail in the region.

For his part, Mr. Marwan thanked the Chairman of the National Assembly for his hospitality, wishing him a good health, praising the flexible role of the Southern Transitional Council in dealing with all issues and matters related to the future of the country through its adherence to the necessity of implementing the Riyadh Agreement, stressing the highest importance that all parties dialogue with each other to resolve all the problems and issues that the country has been experiencing for years.

At the end of the meeting, Major General bin Brik invited the Director of the Office of the UN Envoy in the capital, Aden, to attend the fourth session of the National Assembly, to be held during the period 16-17 of this month, June.
