Aden the capital celebrates International Women's Day with participation of leaders of Transitional Council

The capital Aden, witnessed on Monday, under the patronage of President Aidaroos Qassem Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Southern Transitional Council, a speech and art celebration for the "International Women's Day", held under the slogan: "Southern women renew the covenant and fulfill the political leadership of the Transitional Council", with the participation of Dr. Nasser Al-Khobaji, member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Acting President of the Council, Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, and in the presence of Mr. Fadl Mohammad Al-Jaadi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, and Attorney Niran Sooki, member of the Presidency of the Council, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, and Eng. Nizar Haitham, member of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, head of the Executive Authority of the Council's Local Leadership in the capital, Aden, and Dr. Mohammad Saeed al-Zawari, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, and Anis al-Sharafi the member and reporter of the Negotiations Affairs Unit of the Transitional Council.

Dr. Nasser Al-Khobaji delivered a speech at the ceremony, at the beginning of which he conveyed greetings and congratulations of President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, for women on her International Day, expressing his happiness for attending this event, which is held as an appreciation for the role of women, who is the man's partner in all fields, stressing that southern women have always been actively participated alongside her brother, the man, for the people and the homeland, and she has the right to be proud of what she did and what our people will always remember her deeds generation after generation.

Al-Khobaji stressed that the Southern Transitional Council pays special attention to women, believing in her full and undiminished right to the participation with men at various levels, believing in her worth and ability to achieve distinction wherever she is.

Al-Khobaji noted in his speech that the Southern Transitional Council puts the southern citizen's needs and requirements for a decent life at the forefront of its priorities, stressing steadfastness alongside the people of the south and at the forefront of its ranks to support over their cause and their right to live with dignity on their land, pointing out that the council attaches utmost importance to dialogue and peaceful solutions, and the Council's keenness to walk and lead the South and its people on a safe towards their desired goal, not out of weakness, but out of concern for blood shedding, stressing the Council's readiness to deal with any other scenarios imposed on us, not allowing for our people to be killed and to tamper with our land.

Dr. Al-Khobaji called for activating the consultation committees to complete the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement in its political, security and military parts, including the withdrawal of the aggressor forces from Abyan and Shabwa, and the restoration of security and stability in Shabwah, Hadramout valley and al-Mahra, and the restructuring of the Supreme Council for the Economy, and the Central Agency for Control and Accounting and the National Anti-Corruption Authority, and the appointment of governors and directors of security in the rest of the southern governorates, and the restructuring of ministries, and the obligation of all governorates to deposit their revenues to the Central Bank in Aden, according to the Riyadh Agreement, and to pay sufficient attention to address the economic crisis, and to provide services, salaries, security, stability and support fronts.

Al-Khobaji also called for the parity government to be honest and clear to the people and to reveal those behind the obstacles and crises, and disruption of services and the interests of the people and the deterioration of the economic situation, expressing high appreciation for the steadfastness of the army and security forces in particular, and all people in general for their patience over suffering despite all circumstances, calling on the people to stand in the face of plots and tampering, and confront the conspiracies of the enemies wherever they are.

At the end of his speech, Al-Khobaji stressed on no barging over the independence of the southern state and its new federal construction, saluting the heroic southern forces, and asking for mercy to the heroic martyrs, calling for healing for the wounded and freedom for prisoners, and he reiterated congratulations to southern women on their great international day.

Dr. Najwa Fadl, the Advisor to the President of the Transitional Council for Women’s Affairs, had delivered a speech at the ceremony in which she welcomed the attendees in Aden, which represents the civil civilization of the south that has suffered from injustice for three decades, and affirmed the power of the southern woman who was marginalized and fought while she was the maker of history and peace.

Fadl stressed the need to empower women as the key to achieving development in all areas, stressing that southern women are not satisfied with what is happening and that they do not stand silent in the face of the starvation policy that the southern people are exposed to.

At the end of her speech, Dr. Najwa extended thanks and gratitude to the President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Transitional Council, who gave southern women their place and support in enhancing their role and participation in construction and development. She also thanked the political leadership of the Council for their high attendance at the event, and the participants in the event from various regions of the south who attended as representatives of their governorates.

Ms. Ishtiaq Mohammad Saad, Head of the Women and Children Department in the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, delivered the of Southern Women statement in occasion, in which she congratulated all women of the world and the women of the South in particular on her day, sending a message of appreciation and gratitude to the President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi for the importance he attached to such events that concern and interest women.

Ishtiaq stressed the need to trust the woman who changed the march of history, in her capabilities, and her freedom to choose, think, live and participate in building the nation, as she is the man's partner in the reconstruction of the earth, and she is a symbol of peace, love, goodness and beauty.

The ceremony was inaugurated with a verse from the Holy Quran, followed by the southern national anthem, then standing for a minute of silence for the souls of the martyrs, followed by a scene representing of the renewal the covenant and the loyalty to the south and the Transitional Council and the southern identity embodied by entering the representatives of the southern governorates in the special dress of each governorate and raising the flags of the south, and the Political Department of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Transitional Council gave roses to a number of southern women participating in the ceremony.

During the ceremony, artistic sections were presented that included a number of patriotic songs, a especial poem for southern women on International Women's Day, in addition to a theatrical sketch, and a special honor from the Transitional Council with appreciation and gratitude presented by the Department of Martyrs and Wounded in the General Secretariat of the Presidency Council for the mother of the martyr.

The ceremony was witnessed by the attendance of a number of leaders of the various Transitional Council bodies, representatives of local and international organizations and civil society organizations, and a large crowd of southern women from various southern governorates.
