Al-Baidh participates in symposium of International Organization to Fight for Humanity

The Member of the Southern Transitional Council Presidency, Amr Ali Al-Baidh, participated on Thursday, in an international symposium entitled "Ceasefire during COVID-19 pandemic an opportunity for peace?", organized by the International Organization to Fight for Humanity, based in Geneva.

Al-Baidh made an intervention that clarified the scope of the Transitional Council's response to the United Nations Secretary-General's call for a ceasefire, while the government under the control of the Brotherhood did not adhere to it, and launched a surprise military attack on southern forces earlier this week and it is still continuing, as well as the continuation of the Houthi forces attacks on southern lands, in which Al- Baidh called on the international community to condemn those attacks.

In his intervention, Al-Baidh reviewed the health situation in the south as a result of the Corona pandemic, illustrating the precautionary measures taken by the Transitional Council to deal with it, and called in the context the international organizations to provide support to confront that pandemic.

The symposium, that was held via videoconference, witnessed the participation of a representative of the United Nations, and of the International Committee of the Red Cross, and several other international organizations, and a number of members of the General Department for Foreign Affairs of the Transitional Council.
