The Assistant Secretary-General meets representatives of southern women's components

The Assistant Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Fadhl Al-Jadi, along with Dr. Suhair Ali Ahmed, and Aqeel Al-Attas, members of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council Presidency, met on Sunday a group of women of southern academics and activists in the Southern Movement and activists in civil organizations, unions, and officials in women and children departments in the governorates of Aden, Lahj, and Abyan, and head of the Women Committee in the National Assembly.At the meeting that organized by the Department of Women and Children in the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Al-Jadi spoke about the great role played by southern women in the history of the South and the importance of the role of women to consolidate the state on the ground.Al-Jadi pointed to the developments in the southern political and military arena, where he stressed that Shabwa is insurmountable to the invaders and al-Qaeda and ISIS, and that Shabwa will achieve victory by its citizens and of all areas of the south.Aqeel al-Attas, member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, said: "The role of southern woman has been clear on the southern scene, and her effective activity in the mass movements on the ground made a great influence in raising the voice of the southern land to achieve its freedom and independenceFor her part, Suhair Ahmed Ali, a member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council and responsible for the file of women in the south, said it is nice to see this women's gathering, stressing the importance of coming out of this meeting with a clear plan of action to prepare for the expanded conference for southern women, through coordination with the southern women's components and their branches in different regions of the South to convey a clear vision and real image of southern women and their effective role of international organizations.Ishtiaq Mohammed Saad, head of the Department of Women and Children at the general-secretariat, inaugurated the meeting by welcoming the attendants and clarified that this meeting is the result of the developments in the southern arena, as well as to discuss the points of the political statement to find a mechanism of action to promote the role of women in southern society.The meeting discussed the arrangements and preparations for the inauguration of the expanded meeting of southern women from all regions of the south to strengthen and arrange the role of southern women within the Transitional Council year of empowerment. They also discussed and analyzed the political statement of the Southern Transitional Council and the development of a mechanism of an appropriate action to deal with the circumstances of the next phase.
