The STC and its Institutions are the Focus of an Academic Workshop in Aden

   The concluding  discussion session of the workshop on the ‘Southern Transitional Council, its  Representative Bodies and its Information and Political  Strategies’, was held yesterday in the Capital Aden.

At the workshop three groups were formed who were tasked to draw out the recommendations and outputs appropriately which would be presented to the STC’s presidency in order to be applied at the next stage.

At the final session President of the STC Aidros AlZubaidi sent a message which was presented by the presidium member and head of the Culture department Dr Muna Basharaheel , in which he sent  his greeting expressing his pleasure in holding these  academic workshops which are considered  inclusive for all  political media and legal aspects of the STC . Such workshops will benefit the council at the next stage following completing founding the institutions and coordinating bodies of the Council.

The workshop , which was organized by ‘Aden  Centre for Strategic Research and Statistics’ included , members of the STC Lutfi Shatara head of the Information department, Dr Muna Basharaheel head of Cultural department and Dr Suhair Ahmad head of the Judicial department in addition to 25 academics from different disciplines and political, legal, economic, historical and social services .

The objective of the workshop was to present to the southern academics with proposals which would contribute to promote and advance the Transitional Council at various levels.

At the workshop the participants identified three main axes which are; The institutional structure of the Southern Transitional Council, activate the media political and diplomatic action and a vision in which the Transitional Council will use to face internal and international challenges.

Professor at ‘Criminal law Faculty at University of Aden’, Dr. Abdulla Bashib, said that the workshop was considered the first of its kind which included the participation of academic experts in political studies information and economics. The academics centered their presentations and discussions on building the institutional structure of the Southern Transitional Council and put forward an academic vision for programs and regulations which the STC should utilize to create its coordinating bodies and services.

Dr. Basehib stressed on the importance of the workshop in elevating the performance of the STC, which is at the moment the focal point of the southern people who have advocated the STC to represent them and their cause.
