Major General Bin Brik Receives Delegation of Chieftains and Dignitaries of Nahid Tribes in Hadramout

Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Vice President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Chairman of the National Assembly, met today, Saturday, in the city of Al-Mukalla, with a delegation of chieftains, dignitaries, notables, and wisemen of the Nahid tribes in Hadramout governorate.

In the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Ali Al-Kathiri, member of the STC's Presidium, and Brigadier General Abdul-Daym Al-Shuaibi, commander of the Ba-Rasheed Brigade, Major General Bin Brik welcomed the delegation of the Nahid tribes, praising the positive role of Hadramout tribes in general and the Nahid tribe for their uncompromising struggle and patriotic role both in previous and current phases, stressing the importance of holding meetings with the tribes because of their status and influence in society and their future role in shaping the features of a just state of the South.

Major General Bin Brik reviewed the political and national gains achieved by the STC during the past period, including the success of the Southern National Dialogue, which culminated in the signing of the National Charter that widely opened the door to broad participation of all the southern spectrum without exception, indicating that the STC initially took this into account since its establishment, as Southerners have definitely been involved in restoring and building the state and participating in political decision-making, power, and wealth with neither exclusion nor sidelining. Major General Bin Brik said, "We repeat our call that the door is widely open to political and tribal components, forces, and social personalities without exception or selection, because this policy establishes a true and fair national state."

Major General Bin Brik listened to the interventions raised by chieftains, dignitaries, notables, and wisemen of the Nahid tribes, who congratulated Major General Bin Brik for the success of the sixth session of the National Assembly and the signing of the National Charter, affirming the position of the Nahid tribes in support of the STC and its wise-led steps aimed at restoring the state of the South on its entire national soil.

The delegation of the Nahid tribes highlighted intensifying efforts to transfer the forces of the First Military Division from the Valley of Hadramout and to replace them with the Hadrami Elite Forces, affirming that they still pose a real threat to Hadramout and that acts of violence and assassinations have frequently been going on for many years, calling for putting an end to all terrorist acts in the Valley.
