The Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, chaired by Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, the Secretary General of the Presidium of the STC.
The Presidium expressed its categorical rejection of any desperate attempts to postpone or upsoar the cause of the people of the South, underscoring that the attempt to procrastinate its solution is a disavowal of the outcomes of the Riyadh consultations and a violation of the principle of built-in consensus, which is no longer acceptable and will lead to a worsening of the situation at a phase that calls for rapprochement to encounter the current challenges.
The Presidium, too, recommended President Aidaroos Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC, to form a negotiating team that represents the cause of the people of the South in light of the continued sidestepping, procrastination, and evasion of the entitlement to form a joint negotiating team as stipulated in the outcomes of the Riyadh Agreement and consultations.
Furthermore, the Presidium affirmed the STC's keenness to improve the performance and boost the role of institutions and bodies both in the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) and the government by promoting consensus away from any unilateral measures and calling at the same time all representatives of the STC in state bodies to exert more efforts to well-enhance the performance of state institutions, each one in his/her scope and field of work.
In another context, the Presidium discussed the annual evaluation report of the performance of departments of the General Secretariat, local leadership executive bodies, and coordinators at universities in the governorates of the South for the year 2022, in addition to its work plan for the year 2023, noted that further discussion will continue at the next meeting.
To the end of its meeting, the Presidium reviewed a range of topics and issues related to the organizational and administrative aspects in the presence of the Deputy Head of the Organizational Department and the Head of the Planning Department and took the appropriate measures.
