The Southern Forum for Culture and Arts Foundation organized, on Sunday, in the capital, Aden, a ceremony to announce the National Band for the Southern Child, under the patronage of President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), under the slogan “Towards restoring southern cultural identity” which comes on the occasion of International Children’s Day and in conjunction with the celebrations of the people of the South on the National Independence Day, 30 November.

At the ceremony, which was attended by members of the Presidency of the Council, Mr. Fadl Mohammed Al-Jaadi, Deputy Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, and Advocate Niran Sooki - Vice-Chairman of the National Assembly, in addition to a number of heads and deputy heads of the departments of the General Secretariat, Brigadier General Pilot Nasser Al-Saadi, member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, delivered a speech conveying to the attendees the greetings of President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Southern Transitional Council.

Al-Saadi said: "The child is considered the nucleus of the seed of nation-building to achieve a prosperous future for the people, praising the efforts of school principals and teachers for what they presented in this ceremony through their students of southern artistic sections that reflect their belonging to their homeland towards the restoration of the South of its identity and the restoration of its leading position among nations as it was in the past, including its position in preserving the rights of the child.

Al-Saadi stressed that in order to restore the southern state, everyone must work hard, take care for talents, and all cultural institutions and southern civil society organizations for this noble goal.

Rami Nabih, head of the Southern Forum for Culture, Arts and Heritage Foundation, presented a speech at the ceremony in which he thanked the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council for standing by the Southern Cultural Forum to announce the National Band for the Southern Child.

In his speech, Nabih stressed that the Southern Forum for Culture and Arts will work hard towards restoring the southern national identity, calling on all cultural institutions to work hand by hand with the Transitional Council to reach the desired goals of restoring the southern state with its full sovereignty.

The ceremony included many artistic sections, including national songs, presented by the Southern Child Choir, and the Folklore Troupe presented an artistic acting performance entitled "Yes, Yes to the Transitional Council."
