Al-Muharrami Reviews Efforts by Oil Ministry Efforts to Boost Fuel and Domestic Gas Supplies

Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Muharrami, Deputy President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met on Wednesday at the Presidential Palace in the capital, Aden, with the Minister of Oil and Minerals, Dr. Saeed Al-Shammasi, to discuss the ministry's workflow, secure market needs, and enhance public services in the energy sector.

Mr. Al-Muharrami was briefed by Dr. Al-Shammasi on the ministry's progress of work across various oil sectors and the key difficulties and challenges it faces, particularly amid the continued halt of oil exports due to terrorist Houthi militia attacks on oil facilities.

Al-Muharrami listened to an overview of the efforts by the ministry and its offices in the liberated governorates to maintain market stability and meet local demand for petroleum products and ongoing arrangements to secure quantities of domestic crude oil to bolster the electricity system and provide domestic gas supplies for citizens.

He stressed the need for intensive efforts to maintain local market stability by ensuring the required supply of petroleum products in the liberated governorates, alongside securing oil facilities in Shabwa and Hadramaut.

For his part, Minister Al-Shammasi praised the significant efforts exerted by Al-Muharrami and his strong commitment to overcoming the challenges facing the ministry to fulfil its service and supply roles with optimal efficiency.
