The General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) congratulated the people of Hadramaut in particular and the South in general on the historic achievement accomplished by the Southern Forces, which resulted in the complete liberation of the Hadramaut Valley and the imposition of comprehensive control over sites that were considered strongholds for terrorist elements and outlaw armed groups.

This came during the periodic meeting held by the General Secretariat today, Wednesday, at its headquarters in the capital, Aden, chaired by Eng. Nizar Haitham, Deputy Secretary-General, to review the latest developments in Hadhramaut Governorate and follow up on developments in the military operation launched by the Southern Armed Forces under the name "Promising Future" to liberate the Valley and the Desert of Hadhramaut.

During the meeting, the Secretariat examined field reports on military progress, confirming that what was achieved comes as the result of the ultimate sacrifices and bravery of the Southern Armed Forces and the support of the honourable citizens of Hadhramaut.

The Secretariat called on the citizens of Hadhramaut to adhere to the instructions of the Southern Armed Forces regarding movement and travel, stay away from military sites, and contribute to maintaining security by immediately reporting any suspicious elements or security-wanted persons.

Furthermore, the meeting discussed the political report submitted by the Political Body, which reviewed the most prominent developments in South Arabia, the region, and the international arena during the second half of November, foremost among them the events in Hadhramaut and the military parade witnessed in the capital Aden, in addition to the United Nations decision to classify the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organisation and its impact on the regional scene.

The meeting reviewed the economic report submitted by the Economic and Service Body, which included the most important economic developments in the governorates of the South, including the outcomes of the first National Energy Conference, while commending the announced support from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) of one billion dollars to improve the electricity sector in the liberated areas.

Similarly, the meeting touched on the report of the Planning, Organising, and Capacity Development Body, which reviewed the activities of the Secretariat’s bodies in the governorates during the past week, in addition to approving the minutes of the previous meeting after incorporating the raised remarks.

At the end of the meeting, the Secretariat reaffirmed that the developments in Hadhramaut represent a pivotal stage in the path to restoring security and stability and enhancing the presence of the Southern national project on the path to achieving the aspirations of the people of South Arabia for liberation and the restoration of their state.
