Southern Community in Russia Marks 58th Independence Day

The Southern community in the Russian Federation organised a celebration marking the 58th anniversary of the glorious National Independence Day on 30 November, under the patronage of President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC).

The event was attended by the STC's representative to the Russian Federation, Dr. Mohammed Al-Afeefi, alongside a number of Russian figures interested in Arab and regional affairs and representatives of Arab communities in Moscow.

The ceremony included speeches and national segments recalling the stages of the unrelenting struggle against British colonialism leading up to the declaration of national independence on 30 November 1967, in an atmosphere reflecting the pride of the people of South Arabia in their national history and their cohesiveness in the diaspora behind their political leadership.

The STC representative and the head of the Southern community reaffirmed that this celebration embodies the interest and patronage of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi in Southern communities around the world and enhances the presence of the Southern Arabian cause on different international forums.

The event concluded with an emphasis on the continued support of the people of South Arabia in Russia for the path to restoring their state and their steadfast support behind their political leadership in all national entitlements.
