Al-Muharrami Discusses Infrastructure Status and Road Projects Progress in Liberated Governorates with Public Works Minister

Mr. Abdul Rahman Abu Zara'a Al-Muharami, Deputy President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met on Monday in the capital, Aden, with Eng. Salem Al-Harizi, Minister of Public Works and Highways, to discuss the ministry’s workflow and progress on road and bridge projects in liberated governorates.

Mr. Al-Muharrami received a detailed briefing from Minister Al-Haraizi on the ministry’s top priorities, including plans to rehabilitate strategic roads, improve inter-governorate transportation networks, and address stalled projects requiring urgent intervention.

The meeting discussed major challenges hindering the ministry’s implementation plans amid severe war-damaged infrastructure, with a focus on overcoming these obstacles through enhanced coordination between government bodies and international partners to accelerate recovery and reconstruction efforts.

Al-Muharrami emphasized doubling efforts to improve basic services, particularly in public works, and stressed prioritizing projects with direct impact on citizens’ lives to create a more stable development environment under current conditions.

He reiterated the PLC’s support for infrastructure improvement initiatives, urging integrated coordination between ministries, local authorities, and funders to ensure projects meet the highest technical standards.
