Al-Shaqqi Discusses with Geneva Call Coordination and Joint Cooperation for Awareness-Raising Training Programs in Governorates of the South

Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Haidara al-Shaqqi, Assistant Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), has discussed today, Thursday, in the capital, Aden, joint awareness-raising training programs and their implementation in various governorates of the South with the Programs Coordinator of the Geneva Call, Ms. Dunia Ahmed, and the Programs Officer, Mr. Saher Samir.

In the meeting, which was attended by Dr. Muhammad Sare'a Basarda, Head of the Department of Legal Affairs and Human Rights, Mr. Al-Shaqqi listened to an explanation of Geneva's practical programs in the field of awareness-raising.

During the meeting, the Assistant Secretary-General stressed the importance of raising awareness of international laws that condemn and oppose all wrongdoing and urged for increased efforts to well-educate people about these laws and to monitor violations against the people of the South.

In addition to that, the Head of the Department of Legal Affairs and Human Rights praised the role of organizations in conducting numerous beneficial training courses in various fields, including the field of international humanitarian law, and looked forward to implementing joint activities between the department and the organization.

In turn, Ms. Dunia Ahmand and Mr. Saher Samir expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the STC's significant role in cooperation and easing the challenges that might face organizations.
