STC Secretariat Discusses Workflow of Coordination Body at Abyan University and Lauds its Performance

Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Chairman of the National Assembly, met today, Sunday, with Dr. Waed Badheeb, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation (MPIC) and Acting Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology (TIT).
During the meeting, which was attended by Dr. Nizar Bashahib, Mr. Al-Kathiri was briefed by Dr. Waed Badheeb on the workflow at the MoPIC and its affiliated institutions, the strategies and programs to improve the progress of their work, and their efforts in following up and overseeing the implementation of development projects in accordance with the requirement needs submitted by the Ministry to donors, and their responsibilities towards citizens in the various governorates of the South and the liberated governorates.
Similarly, Al-Kathiri was briefed by Dr. Waed Badheeb on the progress of the telecommunications sector, including achievements fulfilled over the past period, as well as ongoing infrastructure projects, training programs to enhance the workforce, plans to attract investment, and stepping up efforts to modernize and upgrade various public services, such as the maintenance of telecommunications cellular towers and internet infrastructure that have not been serviced or upgraded since 2015.
The Acting President of the STC lauded the Minister Badheeb's efforts in managing both ministries, aimed at enhancing their performance and making a pivotal contribution to improving their services to citizens, affirming that the STC is keen to facilitate the work of the ministries, enabling them to overcome all obstacles that might hinder their workflow.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Mansour Zaid Haidara, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning, and Brigadier General Ahmed Hassan Al-Marhabi, Head of the Security Department of the STC.
