Al-Kathiri Chairs Expanded Meeting to Discuss Overall Situation with GFWUS and Representatives of Military and Security Bodies of the South

The Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting today, Wednesday, chaired by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the STC and Chairman of the National Assembly.
In the beginning of its meeting, the Presidium discussed the mechanism for implementing the recommendations emanating from the field inspection tours of the work teams assigned by President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC, to determine the overall conditions in the governorates of the South and the specific tasks of each team as per its jurisdiction, taking a number of decisions to ensure their effective implementation.
Then, the Presidium listened to a briefing from the Secretary-General, Mr. Fadhl Al-Gaadi, about the latest preparations and arrangements to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the glorious October 14 Revolution. They extended greetings to the people of the South, both at home and abroad, and the valiant armed forces on this momentous occasion, stressing the importance of completing all arrangements at the specified time, which shows the celebratory activity in a way that lives up to the importance and value of the precious occasion.
Furthermore, the Presidium stood before a number of developments on the national scene, foremost of which is the security and military situation in the capital, Aden, and other governorates of the South, underscoring the importance of raising security vigilance at the entry and exit ports of the governorates, maintaining high combat readiness on the various fronts of confrontation with the Houthi militia, controlling any attempts to destabilize security and stability, and countering Houthi attacks on the borders.
In its meeting, the Presidium touched on the ongoing corruption that is affecting state institutions, highlighting the urgent need to activate the work of the supervisory, judicial, and legal institutions to put an end to this rampant corruption and to rationalize the available resources and direct them to serve citizens and the public interest.
At the end of its meeting, the Presidium of the STC confirmed that it is following with great regret the genocide to which civilians in occupied Palestine are being subjected, calling in this context on the United Nations and the international community not to apply double standards in dealing with humanitarian issues.
Similarly, the Presidium reiterated its full support for the Palestinian people and their right to establish their independent state and live in peace on their land, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, the Arab Peace Initiative first floated by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud—may Allah have mercy on him—and which was endorsed at the Arab Summit held in Beirut in 2002, and the Abraham Accords signed by the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain in September 2020, as pillars for achieving peace and stability in the entire region.
