The President of the Southern Transitional Council, President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, chaired today, Sunday, a joint meeting of the Woman and Child Committee in the National Assembly, and the Woman and Child Department in the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Council.
In the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi welcomed all the attendees, stressing the need for women to get the place they should be at as half of the society.
President Al-Zubaidi stressed that women "should have a high position, in which we, in the Southern Transitional Council, are keen to give southern women their full and undiminished right, and to restore the time of feminist leadership, in contrast to the practices, violations, marginalization and exclusion of their right, by the successive governments of the occupation in the South. ".
President Al-Zubaidi also stressed the importance of coordination and cooperation between the Woman and Child Department in the General Secretariat and the Woman and Child Committee in the National Assembly, urging everyone to highlight the role of women in all aspects of society.
In turn, the Advisor to the President of the Council for Woman's Affairs, Dr. Najwa Fadl, affirmed the leadership's keenness in the South to grant children and women the rights that they should enjoy after the oppressive authorities and the Houthi and Brotherhood militias stripped them of the most basic rights, as they made women and children a commodity for moral and material blackmail away from privacy.
For their part, the leaderships of the Department of Woman and Child in the General Secretariat and the Committee of the National Assembly affirmed that the Council has given women an advanced position in all its regulatory bodies, as they are present in its various institutions and at the top of the Council.
The attendees, on both sides, noted the necessity of involving women in the specialized committees, as this would enhance their position and that of the Council in international bodies and organizations concerned with women.
At the end of meeting, proposals and solutions were presented to some of the problems, which the President directed to be overcome and solved in a way that contributes to raising the status of southern women.
