President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met today, Sunday, with Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), Judge Mohsen Talib Taleb Al-Hawshabi.
President Al-Zubaidi was briefed by the SJC Chairman and its members on the workflow in the courts and public prosecutions, the challenges facing their work, and the efforts being made to enforce the rule of law and safeguard rights and freedoms. In this regard, the President stressed that the coming phase requires intensifying efforts to achieve genuine reforms within the financial and administrative systems, ensuring their effectiveness and integrity.
The President also reaffirmed the independence and neutrality of the judiciary, expressing readiness to provide all means of support and assistance so that the judicial authority can carry out its duties with complete independence, free from any influences.
The meeting reviewed the security efforts exerted by the Southern Armed Forces to track down terrorist groups and cut off weapons smuggling routes to the Houthi militia in the Valley and Desert of Hadramaut and Al-Mahra.
In the same context,President Al-Zubaidi praised the judiciary's responsible stance, as reflected in the Attorney General's directives calling for a comprehensive and urgent investigation into the recently uncovered, unlicensed oil refineries in the Al-Khasha'ah area of the Hadramaut Desert. His Excellency stressed the importance of the judiciary's role in conducting a transparent investigation into these refineries and the organized looting networks behind them, and in keeping the public informed of the facts.
Furthermore, the meeting touched on the humanitarian conditions and grave violations faced by citizens in the governorates under the control of the terrorist Houthi militia. In this context, the President reaffirmed the Transitional Council's stance for the national forces opposing the terrorist Houthi militias controlling Northern areas, noting that the Transitional Council and the Southern Armed Forces stand by their brothers under all circumstances and will be with them in their battle to liberate themselves from the terrorism of the Iranian-backed militias.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Saad Mohammed Saad, Deputy Minister of Justice, and Dr. Mohammed Basardah, Deputy Minister of Legal Affairs and Human Rights.
