The Senior Executive Leadership of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting today, Saturday, chaired by President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), in the presence of his deputy, Mr. Abdul Rahman Al-Muharrami, a member of the PLC.
The meeting began with a review of military and political developments in the South, alongside the achievements of its armed forces under the 'Promising Future' operation. This military campaign aims to dismantle terrorist strongholds, cut off Iranian weapons smuggling routes to the Houthi militia, consolidate security and stability, and safeguard state institutions throughout the governorates of the South.
In this context, the meeting lauded the efforts of brotherly countries in the coalition, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to resolve differences and unify perspectives to strengthen the partnership within the Arab coalition to confront shared challenges and threats in the South and the region.
The meeting reaffirmed the STC's openness to any arrangements that guarantee the protection, security, and stability of the South and the unity and integrity of its territories; meet the aspirations and sterling will of its people for freedom and dignified living; and achieve shared interests with brotherly countries in the coalition.
The meeting commended the coalescing of the people of the South behind their leadership, as reflected by the massive public presence at sit-in squares across the South, from Al-Mahra to Bab al-Mandab and Socotra. It further lauded the national stances expressed by government ministries and institutions in supporting the STC's leadership and their absolute backing for the measures taken by President Al-Zubaidi to secure the South.
In a separate context, the meeting discussed the efforts made by service ministries to ensure the delivery of essential services to citizens. Foremost among these are the efforts of the Ministry of Oil, in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT), to address the shortage of domestic gas supplies, and the efforts of the MIT to ensure market stability, steady prices of consumer goods, and strengthened food stockpiles.
The meeting also reviewed the efforts of the Central Bank and the Ministry of Finance to monitor exchange rates, curb any violations, and take immediate action against violators, in addition to discussing the efforts of the Bank and the Ministry of Finance to provide the necessary cash liquidity for salary payments and operational expenses.
At the end of the meeting, they touched on a range of topics and issues within the matrix of priorities on the Senior Executive Leadership's agenda and took the appropriate measures regarding them.
