The President of the Southern Transitional Council, President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, met on Thursday, with the leadership of the General Federation of Trade Unions of the South.
At the outset of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi welcomed the Head of the General Federation of Trade Unions of the South and its members, praising all the efforts made by the Federation during the last period, and its role in the southern arena as a major pillar of the southern struggle.
President Al-Zubaidi stressed the importance of redoubling efforts by the General Federation of Trade Unions of the South, because of the importance of the Federation in the capital, Aden, in particular, and the governorates of the south in general, as well as its role with government institutions in combating corruption in the south and improving the level of work.
President Al-Zubaidi indicated that union work is going in parallel with political activity, stressing the council's readiness to cooperate and coordinate with the General Federation of Trade Unions of the South, to ensure the success of work and help workers in various sides of life.
The President of the Transitional Council pointed out to the need to raise the pace of the unions' work, and their supportive societal role to secure and organize people's lives and convey their concerns, noting that the situation in its crisis form is reflected on everyone, but with national efforts and determination, we can overcome it.
In turn, the member of the Presidency of the Council, Head of Transitional Council Executive in the capital, Aden, Eng. Nizar Haitham, stressed that the main goal of the Federation of South Trade Unions is to preserve the facilities of the southern state, calling on everyone to adopt national positions to fix the imbalance and corruption that was empowered in all government facilities during the rule of Sana'a regime and its occupation of the south.
For his part, the head of the General Federation of Southern Trade Unions, Mr. Sami Khairan, confirmed that the unions are the southern field army, noting that their work is usually in coordination with the Transitional Council, and that the unions are the striking stick that works with other forces, in order to restore the rights of the southern citizens.
Khairan delivered a detailed explanation to President Al-Zubaidi about the work of most unions and the difficulties they face. stressing that all unions are working hard to support, secure, and organize workers' lives and convey their concerns, despite the many difficulties facing their work.
In turn, unions leaders spoke of the suffering experienced by workers due to government corruption, the decline in the economy and the deterioration in the local currency exchange rate.
President Al-Zubaidi also listened to an integrated explanation of the concerns, problems and suffering of southern teachers, and the most important solutions available to solve these issues.
In conclusion, President Al-Zubaidi stressed that the Southern Transitional Council pays great attention to the issue of male and female teachers, as they are the most important segment in southern society, as well as their active role in raising and educating generations in the past, present, and future.
