The President of the Southern Transitional Council, President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, met on Tuesday, with a group of Maqadima and social figures and leaders of civil society organizations from Hadramout governorate.
The meeting was attended by Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly, and members of the Presidency of the Council, Major General Salem Al-Socoqatri, Deputy Secretary-General, Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries, and Mr. Lutfi Shatara, Vice-Chairman of the Assembly, in which President Al-Zubaidi welcomed all the attendees of the people of Hadramout, stressing that the leadership of the Transitional Council highly appreciates the patience and persistence of the sons of Hadhramaut, in the coast and valley in particular, and the South in general, over the deteriorating conditions, and the practices of forces hostile to the South and its cause.
President Al-Zubaidi praised the efforts made by Maqadima and Hadramout personalities in preserving the social fabric, reforming relations and solving societal problems, expressing his appreciation to them for enduring the suffering of traveling to reach the capital, Aden, stressing the need to continue work at a high pace given the fateful stage of the people of the South, in order to establish the principle of reconciliation and tolerance and southern identity.
President Al-Zubaidi stressed that Hadramout governorate was and will remain one and united, and it is the corner of the extreme south, its strategic depth, and the nucleus of the southern democratic federal state that we all seek.
President Al-Zubaidi also reiterated the Transitional Council's firm and principled position on the side of the Arab coalition, and continuing to fight Iranian expansion and combat terrorism in Yemen and the region
President Al-Zubaidi affirmed the Council's and the Southern armed forces’ rejection of the absurd practices of the Brotherhood militia and its leaders, and their disavowal of implementing their interim obligations towards the governorate and the citizens, stressing that these practices cannot continue, whether in the file of oil or services or an attempt to tear the social fabric, and the sons of Hadramout will have the right of sovereignty over the wealth and capabilities of their province which will be very soon.
President Al-Zubaidi stressed on the security services and southern military units in Hadramout governorate, to adhere to the utmost levels of readiness, alertness, constant vigilance, and to raise the level of enthusiasm, and to assume their national responsibilities in this delicate circumstance, to preserve the security and stability of the South, and to deal firmly with any terrorist groups or security imbalances.
Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly, also spoke at the meeting, in which he indicated that there are remedies for the suffering of the people of the south, stressing that holding the fourth session of the National Assembly will result in urgent recommendations to work on and implement them.
Major General bin Brik called for working together in the spirit of one body, stressing that with the solidarity of the people of Hadramout and the south in general, what it's thought was impossible will be achieved.
After that, the attendees had the opportunity to speak, as they expressed in their interventions their thanks to President Al-Zubaidi for giving the people of Hadramout governorate the opportunity to sit with him and listen to their views on the various issues of concern to the Hadrami citizens, stressing their full support for the leadership of the Transitional Council in light of this difficult stage that the South is going through in general, and Hadramout in particular.
The attendees addressed the problem of deteriorating services, insecurity and the frightening activity of terrorist organizations in the Hadramout valley, which is still under occupation. They also demanded an evaluation of the work of associations and organizations, and solving the problems of fishermen, and the formation of community committees in Hadramout, as it is done in the capital, Aden, to control suspicious elements, and help the elite forces to perform their tasks in this aspect.
At the end of the meeting, President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi responded to all the interventions and answered the inquiries raised with full transparency, welcoming all the proposals and visions presented by the attendees to develop the work and solve problems.
