The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council held on Thursday, its periodic meeting, chaired by President Aidaroos Qassem Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Southern Transitional Council, Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces.
The meeting was devoted to discussing the deteriorating and collapsing conditions of the electricity power system, and the suffering of the capital, Aden, and neighboring governorates, from continuous electrical power blackouts in light of the extreme high temperature of the weather, and the outbreak of the new Corona virus (Covid-19), and the evasion of the presidency of the country and its government from assuming their responsibilities and fulfilling their obligations in accordance with the Riyadh Agreement.
The meeting, that was attended by the ministers of the Council in the parity government, discussed the proposals made to address the power outages, and the efforts made by the local authorities represented by the Secretary General of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, the Governor of Aden the capital, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, to introduce 100 megawatts to service distributed among all stations in the month of July.
The Council's Presidency also stood before the disavowing of the Presidency of the republic, and its government, from their agreed obligations in accordance with the Riyadh Agreement, including operating the Petromasila station and al-Haswa 2 station, stressing that delaying the operation of the two stations is part of the service war that is being practiced against the south and the capital, Aden in particular.
At the conclusion of its meeting, the Presidency confirmed that the Transitional Council would exert all its capabilities to alleviate the suffering of citizens in Aden the capital, and the South, and would spare no effort for that.
