President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi meets with southern community in Saudi and Gulf states

The President of the Southern Transitional Council, Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, President Aidaroos Qassem Al-Zubaidi, met on Friday, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with elite of the southern community leaders in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab Gulf states.

President Al-Zubaidi delivered a speech during the meeting in which he praised the pivotal role that the expatriates from the South had presented in various stages and turns that the South went through, especially their great role in supporting the peaceful southern movement and then the armed struggle, highlighting pioneering roles that history will show for them in its brightest pages.

The President of the Transitional Council emphasized on the South’s need for national competencies that were absent due to displacement by force, hoping to transfer the experiences and knowledge they gained in the diaspora to the homeland, and to contribute in building its institutions, and rehabilitating its youth.

President Al-Zubaidi also stressed on the need for the immigrant capital to return home and to invest in the South, and make use of the available investment opportunities, to be the best support to the national economy and employ the unemployed.

For his part, Sheikh Abbas Sunaij Al-Shairi, head of the southern community in the Kingdom of Saudi and the Gulf states, expressed the community's gratitude and appreciation to President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi and his accompanying delegation, for the opportunity to meet with a group of the leaders of the southern community in the Kingdom of Saudi and the Gulf states, stressing on the community's support for all the steps that the Southern Transitional Council is taking to serve the people of the South and represent their demands and their national cause.

Dr. Nasser Al-Khobaji, the member of the Transitional Council Presidency, Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, presented a brief explanation about the current negotiations and political situation, stressing that the Riyadh Agreement represents a glimmer of hope and an important step to transfer the struggles of the people of the South to advanced levels, and noted that it is a phased agreement to reach a comprehensive political process, in which the issue of the people of the South and the future of the South will come at its fore.

Al-Khobaji stressed on the importance of strengthening the strategic relationship with the Arab Coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

For his part, Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, the member of the Transitional Council Presidency, Deputy Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, illustrated a brief explanation about the political and media speech and the role of southern communities in representing an honorable image of the people of the south in front of the communities and peoples in which they live and mix with.

At the end of the meeting, the President of the Southern Transitional Council and his accompanying delegation were honored by the southern community in the Kingdom of Saudi and the Gulf, in which a shield of honor was presented on behalf of the southern community by Sheikh Abbas Sunaij, head of the southern community in the Kingdom of Saudi and the Gulf, and Mr. Abdullah Al-Battati, member of the Supreme Council for the southern community, head of the community in Western Region.

The meeting was attended by members of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, Mr. Salem Al-Socotri, Mr. Abdul Rahman Sheikh, Eng. Adnan Al-Kaf, and Mr. Mohammad Al-Ghaithi, Deputy Head of the General Department for Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Anis Al-Sharafi, member of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, and Mr. Adel Mutlaq, member of the General Department for Foreign Affairs of the Southern Transitional Council.
