President Al-Zubaidi delivers important speech to southern people about measures to tackle new Corona virus

The President of the Southern Transitional Council, President Aidaroos Qassem Al-Zubaidi, delivered on Sunday, an important speech to our southern people at home, on the measures that have been taken to confront the new pandemic of the Corona virus that affects most of the world. President Al-Zubaidi started his speech to the people of the South by saying: "From our historical commitment to our people and based on their mandate to us according to the historic Declaration of Aden, and according to what the meantime requires regarding the spread of the new Corona epidemic and its threat to our people, we have started an initiative since early time to study the problem and directions of facing the pandemic, and we have started taking a number of necessary precautions. " President Al-Zubaidi continued his speech, "The world is going through an exceptional and difficult situation due to the Corona virus, and this pandemic poses danger to us more than others, especially in light of the deterioration of the health system and the lack of equipment and capabilities to confront this pandemic, as is the case in the rest of the world." He continued his speech by saying: "Accordingly, and within the guidelines issued by the World Health Organization, we will work as much as possible and with your cooperation and solidarity with us we can overcome the crisis with the least losses and we all hope that you will not hesitate to implement those instructions that will be broadcast to you through all southern media. " President Al-Zubaidi continued: "These measures require restrictions on movements, gatherings and activities in all its forms, this will not be achieved without your cooperation and response to health, security and administrative agencies concerned with following up procedures of dealing with this pandemic according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization." President Al-Zubaidi addressed the people, saying: "We are in an exceptional situation. Therefore, exceptional measures must be taken and all parties should cooperate with our efforts in facing this pandemic by providing the necessary and we call upon the World Health Organization and all international and regional organizations concerned with urgent intervention on the ground to save our people and relief them with food, medicine, and equipment needed to face Corona virus, as its consequences will be catastrophic. " President Al-Zubaidi added, "At the same time, we call on all political forces of all directions to overcome all inter-ethnic differences and unite efforts to cooperate and join forces to confront this serious pandemic that threatens us all, hoping everyone to feel responsibility before our people who are loaded with their suffering, and suffer from the war, destruction and epidemics at the same time." President Al-Zubaidi went on to say, "Out of our responsibility for our people, we initiated the formation of an emergency committee concerned with following up the crisis of the spread of the Corona virus, including all relevant agencies and bodies." The President stressed on the need to coordinate with the Arab Coalition to tighten security measures to protect maritime borders in the face of illegal immigration coming from the countries of the Horn of Africa in order to avoid the transmission of the virus, and implementing the quarantine procedures stipulated by the World Health Organization. Al-Zubaidi pointed out that the emergency committee set up by the Transitional Council works with the competent health authorities to prepare places for quarantine in all governorates of the south to preserve any persons suspected of carrying the virus similar to what was prepared in the capital, Aden. The President Commander affirmed that he directed the security services to impose prevention zones and curfew in case the pandemic appears in any area to besieged to prevent its spread to other regions. President Al-Zubaidi also directed to the formation of teams at the level of all governorates and directorates of the south and linking them to the in-charge emergency committee, to follow up and generalize preventive measures in all areas of the south and take the necessary actions. President Al-Zubaidi stressed on the need of the concerned authorities to sterilize the populated areas according to the available capabilities and work in cooperation with the competent health authorities and the media to brief the health and preventive directions of facing this pandemic to be circulated and follow up on developments. President Al-Zubaidi urged civil society organizations and youth initiatives to make an effective contribution to protect the society from the pandemic, stressing that: "We are facing a difficult challenge that requires patience, cooperation and solidarity, and we call upon all citizens to seriously adhere to the recognized health and preventive guidelines, and foremost among them is staying at homes and not going out except for necessity, check on each other and seek the spirit of cooperation and compassion, May Allah bless you and protect you from evil and all harm. "
