The President of the Southern Transitional Council, Presiden Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi, met on Tuesday, at the headquarter of the Transitional Council in Aden the capital, the leadership and members of the Chamber of Commerce, headed by Abu Bakr Ba-Obaid, President of the Chamber of Commerce.
President Al-Zubaidi welcomed the leadership and members of the Chamber of Commerce, describing them as "the pioneers of industry and trade and the nerve of economic life for the southern capital, Aden."
The meeting discussed ways to confront the accelerating collapse of the local currency, as well as the difficulties facing traders, and ways to improve the conditions of citizens.
Abu Bakr Ba-Obaid presented a detailed explanation on the role of the Chamber of Commerce and its suffering in the past stages, and the importance of the economic areas in the capital Aden and the economic vision, and ways to implement the "Master Plan of Aden 2005-2025".
Ba-Obaid pointed out to the importance of the port of Aden and its vital role, stressing that its systematic destruction contributed to the disruption of an important economic structure to the capital, Aden, as was the case with the refinery.
Ba-Obaid expressed his appreciation to the leadership of the Transitional Council praising the great attention given by the council to merchants and economic institutions.
In turn, Dr. Abdul Salam Homaid, Advisor to the President of the Transitional Council for Economic Affairs, spoke about the importance of maintaining financial stability, as well as the role of the Arab coalition in supporting the local currency through the Saudi deposit of the central bank, and the inability of previous governments to stabilize the exchange rate.
After that, the members of the Chamber of Commerce who discussed with the Transitional Council leadership a number of issues facing them and trading process, including raising the material cost of goods and thus increasing the burdens on the citizens.
At the end of the meeting, the President of the Chamber of Commerce gave to President Al-Zubaidi a geographical map of the most important and prominent economic and industrial areas in the capital Aden.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdul Nasser Al-Wali, member of the Presidency of Transitional Council, head of the local leadership of the Transitional Council in the capital Aden, and Dr. Abdul Qawi al-Solh, head of the Economic Department of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Council, and Naseeb al-A'amri, representing the National Assembly.
