The President of the Southern Transitional Council, President Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi, met on Tuesday the United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffith.
The meeting discussed the updates of the security situation in Aden the capital and the south in general, as well as the political process and peace efforts to resolve the crisis, and means of participation of southerners in the UN-sponsored peace process to reach a comprehensive solution to the Yemeni crisis.
In the meeting, Martin Griffith conveyed the condolences of the United Nations to the family of martyr Commander Munir Mahmoud Al-Mashali "Abu Al-Yamamah" and to the southern people, expressing his deep regret over the attack on Al-Gala'a camp, describing what happened as dangerous action.
For his part, President Al-Zubaidi stressed on the continuation of the southern forces in their campaigns to combat terrorism, and their efforts to establish security and stability in Aden the capital and the rest of the southern provinces.
President Al-Zubaidi called on the Special Envoy to contribute seriously to alleviate the suffering of the southern people who are subjected to terrorist and Houthi attacks in light of an unjust international silence.
Al-Zubaidi stressed that the Transitional Council will defend the people of the South, and the people will be the wall of protection to the principles and the achieved national accomplishments.
President Al-Zubaidi stressed in the same context that peace will never be achieved without the presence of southerners as major and independent party in the peace process.
