The President of the South Transitional Council, President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, met on Thursday with Jane Kennimont, the representative of the World Historical Leaders Organization.President Al-Zubaidi, presented in the meeting a detailed explanation of the roots of the southern issue, pointing out that Yemen before was two countries members in the United Nations and all international organizations, and recognized by all countries, the two ruling parties in the north and south got the two countries into a unity without the reference of the people and a referendum on the resolution, it was just between the political groups away from the convictions of the two peoples.
Al-Zubaidi noted that the unity failed and caused two wars in 1994 and 2015 targeting the south to be invaded and destroyed.
President Al-Zubaidi pointed out that the establishment of the Southern Transitional Council came with a mandate from the people to achieve the goals and aspirations of the people of the South in liberation and independence, and building the independent civilian southern state.
For her part, Kennimont thanked President Al-Zubaidi for this meeting and gave him a brief explanation about the World Historical Leaders organization, which consists of a group of international politicians their tasks based on the quest for peace by meetings with all components of the conflicts around the world and presenting their recommendations to the international community decision-makers.
For the Yemeni crisis, Kennimont said that they have great interest in bringing peace and ending the Yemeni crisis, and in this meeting they aim to listen to President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi and his vision for the situation in the south in particular and in Yemen in general.
The meeting witnessed a debate on how to achieve the objectives of the southern people in the safe way, in which President Al-Zubaidi pointed out to the possibility of holding a referendum under the supervision of the United Nations, to let the people of the South decide their own choice.
