The Local Leadership Executive Body (LLEB) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Seiyun District, Hadhramaut Governorate, launched on Wednesday the activities of the first training and qualification camp for Hadhrami girls, which is organized by the Youth and Sports Office for Valley and Desert Hadhramaut, in partnership with the Nabdh Wardi (Pink Pulse) Foundation for Women's Qualification and Empowerment.
During the inauguration ceremony, which was attended by Sheikh Karamah Bin Salem Bin al-Saqir, Deputy Head of the LLEB in Valley and Desert of Hadhramaut, Abdulrahman Al-Jifri, head of the Seiyun LLEB, stated that the camp reflects the STC's keenness to alleviate the economic burdens on families through the professional empowerment of girls. He emphasized that empowering girls and equipping them with vocational skills are cornerstones of societal stability and development.
Amer Saeed Al-Amari, Undersecretary of Hadhramaut Governor for Valley and Desert Affairs, added that this initiative represents a significant step towards supporting Hadhrami women and opening new horizons for them. He noted that the camp is founded on the firm belief that empowering women and developing their capabilities constitutes a real investment in sustainable development. He reaffirmed the continued support of the local authority for such initiatives and programs designed to empower women and promote their role in society.
Dr. Majdi Suleiman, Director-General of the Youth and Sports Office for Valley and Desert of Hadhramaut, explained the office's interest in and support for these initiatives and programs that aim to improve women's conditions and enhance their role as a fundamental partner and an active element in building society and shaping the future, praising the support of the Seiyun Transitional Council for this camp.
The month-long camp aims to train and qualify 250 girls from various areas of Seiyun District in five training fields, including tailoring, perfume and incense making, accessories, cooking, and hairdressing. This is alongside knowledge-based courses in the fields of feasibility studies and personal marketing, contributing to enhancing women's active presence in society and enabling them to integrate into the local labor market with high efficiency.
The launch was attended by Mahboob A'aman, Director-General of the Technical Education and Vocational Training Office; Abdulmalik Al-Tamimi, Director of Mass and Social Affairs at the Assistant LLEB; and several government officials and civil society organizations.
