Large Crowds from Abyan Arrive at Open-Ended Sit-In Square in Capital Aden to Demand Declaration of South Arabia State

The open-ended sit-in square in the capital, Aden, witnessed on Thursday, for the twenty-sixth consecutive day, the influx of large popular crowds from Abyan Governorate. The scene reflects the broadening base of popular support for demands of the South, chief among them authorizing the Southern political leadership to declare the state of South Arabia.

The crowds were led by official and political leaders, headed by the Governor of Abyan, Maj. Gen. Abubakr Hussein; a member of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) Presidium, Dr. Omar Al-Saeedi; and the head of the STC's local leadership executive body (LLEB) in the governorate, Samir Al-Hayd. They were received at the sit-in square by the Assistant Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the STC, Ahmed Al-Shaqi, alongside several political leaders and social figures.

The participation of people of Abyan Governorate came as an expression of their political aspirations and popular will to stand behind the political leadership of the South led by President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi and to affirm their full support for the declaration of the state of South Arabia as the sole national choice for the people of the South.

During the event, the Governor of Abyan delivered a speech to the crowds, in which he affirmed that the governorate, with all its districts and people, stands united with the orientations of the STC and its political leadership. He pointed out that Abyan has offered convoys of martyrs and wounded in the cause of the Southern flag and the restoration of the state and national sovereignty.

The governor stressed that Abyan's crowds today at the open-ended sit-in square in the capital, Aden, came to authorize President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi to declare the state of South Arabia, confirming that the governorate will remain present in all national phases and positions until the restoration of the state of the South with full sovereignty.

For his part, Dr. Al-Saeedi confirmed that Abyan's participation in the sit-in square in the capital, Aden, represents a renewal of the covenant with South Arabia and a clear message demanding the declaration of the independent state of South Arabia with full sovereignty. He noted that the Southern popular will has become clearer and more steadfast at this critical phase.

In turn, the head of the STC executive body in Abyan delivered a speech, affirming that the governorate's crowds came today to speak their word clearly and send a frank message to all, at home and abroad, that the will of the people of South Arabia cannot be broken, and that their just demand is the restoration of their state with full sovereignty. He stressed the paramount importance of Southern cohesiveness and coalescing around the political leadership.

The event also featured the delivery of several patriotic speeches and poems expressing the aspirations and political choices of the people of the South, in enthusiastic atmospheres reflecting the widespread popular engagement with the protest's demands.

Those delivered speeches emphasized the importance of enhancing national cohesiveness and Southern unity and rallying behind the Southern political leadership, considering it the key guarantee for achieving the aspirations of the people of the South to restore their state with full sovereignty over its internationally recognized borders.

In the sit-in square, crowds from Abyan and across the South chanted slogans condemning the policies of Rashad Al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), and those behind him, including Muslim Brotherhood groups, parties, and Houthis, are destined to fail in the face of the sterling will of the people of the South and the justice of their cause, and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing the peaceful and well-organized movement until the deeply rooted national goal is fully realized.

They reiterated their commitment to unifying Southern ranks, coalescing around the just cause of the South and its political leadership under President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, and advancing toward the declaration of the South Arabia state and the building of a secure, stable, and sovereign future.
