The Local Leadership Executive Body (LLEB) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Al-Mahrah governorate on Sunday launched the third phase of a food basket distribution program for the vulnerable families, which is provided by President Aidarous Al-Zoubaidi, the STC President.
Mr. Abdulraheem al-Sadiq, head of the STC’s executive body in Al-Mahrah, said the launch of the third phase reflected the STC leadership’s commitment to its humanitarian and social responsibilities and the implementation of President Al-Zoubaidi’s directives. He added that the initiatives form part of an organized plan targeting the most vulnerable families across the governorate’s districts.
Mr. al-Sadiq explained that the distribution process is being carried out under a precise mechanism, using approved beneficiary lists and under the direct supervision of specialized committees, to ensure that assistance reaches those who deserve it well with transparency and fairness, and confirmed that relief programs would continue in the coming period.
The third phase follows earlier phases of the food basket program, under which 3,000 food baskets were distributed in the first phase and 2,000 in the second. A further 1,500 food baskets are being distributed on Sunday as part of the third phase in an ongoing effort to ease the suffering of poor and needy families in Al-Mahrah governorate.
