President Al-Zubaidi Discusses Ways to Develop Transport Infrastructure

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), conducts an inspection visit to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT) on Monday, and upon his arrival at the ministry's main building, His Excellency was received by Mr. Salem Salman Al-Wali, the Deputy Minister of MIT, along with undersecretaries and directors-general of the ministry.
The President was briefed by Deputy Minister Salem Al-Wali and the undersecretaries on the workflow within the ministry and its affiliated bodies, as well as the efforts being made to execute the ministry's assigned tasks, particularly concerning market inspection and monitoring, preventing any manipulation of goods and services prices, and maintaining market stability.
President Al-Zubaidi listened to an explanation regarding the state of market stability, the availability of basic goods and services, the size of the strategic reserves, and the coordination mechanism with the private sector and the Central Bank to regulate the import process, and measures taken to prevent monopolistic practices and ensure the smooth supply of essential goods.
The President stressed the need to redouble efforts, strengthen market oversight, and control any instances of price manipulation, with those involved referred to the relevant legal authorities, and emphasized the importance of intensifying field inspections, enhancing supervision over counterfeit and expired goods, and taking deterrent measures against violators to contribute to protecting citizens and achieving economic stability.
President Al-Zubaidi affirmed his full support for the efforts of the MIT in carrying out its duties and the leadership's commitment to creating appropriate conditions that enable the ministry to properly perform its regulatory and service roles.
