President Al-Zubaidi Gets Briefed by Central Bank Governor on Steps in Financial and Banking Reform Plan

His Excellency President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met at the Presidential Palace in Ma'asheeq on Monday with the Governor of the Central Bank, Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Maabaqi.

President Al-Zubaidi was briefed by Al-Maabaqi on the progress of work at the Central Bank, its sectors, and its branches in the governorates, and the efforts being made by the bank's administration to develop the financial and banking work system, including administrative and regulatory measures aimed at boosting the efficiency of the administrative and financial staff and raising the readiness of banking sector institutions.

Governor Ahmed Al-Maabqi outlined the current plans the bank is working on to secure the liquidity required for salary disbursements and affirmed that the bank continues to take a series of technical and financial measures to improve cash-flow management.

The President lauded the efforts made by the bank's administration in implementing financial reforms and underscored the urgent need to strengthen the bank's role in achieving economic stability and developing the banking sector in a way that serves the interests of citizens and maintains the regularity of the financial cycle in the country.

President Al-Zunaidi emphasised the importance of continuing administrative and financial reforms at the Central Bank and its branches in accordance with the reform plan approved by the PLC with the support of brothers in coalition countries and international partners.
