President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met today, Saturday, in the capital, Aden, with His Excellency Mr. Shao Cheng, the acting ambassador of the People's Republic of China (PRC) to Yemen.
The meeting reviewed the distinguished bilateral relations with the friendly Republic of China and discussed ways to promote and develop them in service of mutual interests.
The meeting discussed the role China could assume in supporting the development and reconstruction process in the country, particularly in the sectors of education, ports, marine fisheries, and sustainable energy, given China's extensive expertise and capabilities in these fields.
The meeting further touched upon the strategic importance of our country within China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the potential role of the country's ports in this global project.
The Chinese Chargé d'Affaires highlighted the depth of historical relations between the two countries, reiterating his country's support for efforts to achieve peace and stability and its readiness to enhance economic and investment partnerships in service of the shared interests of the two friendly peoples.
