President Al-Zubaidi Receives Russian Federation Ambassador

His Excellency President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met in the capital, Aden, on Monday with H.E. Dr. Evgeny Kudrov, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the country.

At the beginning of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi welcomed Ambassador Kudrov, lauding the decision of the Russian Foreign Ministry to reopen its embassy in the capital, Aden, as an important step toward strengthening joint work with the friendly Russian Federation.

The meeting, attended by Dr. Nasser Al-Khubbaji, Member of the STC Presidium; Mr. Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, Member of the STC Presidium and Head of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission supporting the PLC; and Dr. Saleh Mohsen Al-Haj, Head of the STC Foreign Affairs Authority, discussed the latest political and security developments in the country and the efforts being made by the PLC and the government to normalise the situation in the liberated governorates, promote reforms within state institutions, and continue the path of economic recovery.

The meeting further explored ways to enhance bilateral cooperation with the Russian Federation in various fields, with a primary focus on expanding the scope of economic cooperation and investment opportunities, based on the outcomes of President Al-Zubaidi's visit to Moscow last October and his meetings with Russian government officials.
