President Al-Zubaidi Chairs Expanded Meeting of Transitional Council Senior Leadership
President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), chaired an expanded meeting on Thursday evening that brought together the Council's Presidium and General Secretariat and was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly and the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Advisors.
The meeting focused on the latest political, economic, and humanitarian developments across the governorates of the South and the efforts being made by the Council's central and local bodies to strengthen the presence of service institutions and to support central and local authorities in improving public services and alleviating the suffering of citizens.
In this context, the Presidium expressed its great appreciation for the continuous fraternal efforts made by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to support the economic recovery path and reaffirmed that the recent UAE grant of one billion dollars for the rehabilitation of the electricity sector in the capital, Aden, and other governorates represents a significant step towards improving infrastructure and essential services.
Furthermore, the meeting discussed in detail the level of ongoing preparations in the capital, Aden, and throughout the South for commemorating the 58th anniversary of the first National Independence Day on the 30th of November, 1967. The Presidium extended its highest congratulations to all the masses of the people of the South, both inside and outside the Southern homeland, and to its armed forces and security services on the occasion of this immortal national anniversary.
The Presidium called on the masses of the people of the South to broadly and effectively engage in the events, celebrations, and festivals that will be held in the governorates and districts on this immortal occasion, which embodies great and enduring national meanings.
In a separate context, President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi directed the Council's central and local bodies to continue the path of the Southern national dialogue and emphasised the importance of communicating with all segments of Southern society, both at home and abroad, and across all their orientations, to reinforce the approach of consensus and partnership.
The president reiterated that the STC is proceeding with its historical role and responsibilities towards unifying ranks and voices in preparation for a new phase of the people of the South's unrelenting struggles to restore and build its fully sovereign, independent federal state.
At the end of the meeting, the Presidium reviewed a number of organisational topics and issues on its agenda and took the appropriate measures regarding them.
