President Al-Zubaidi Meets with IRC President

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met on Monday evening in New York with Mr. David Miliband, President of the International Rescue Committee (IRC), on the sidelines of His Excellency's participation in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

The meeting discussed the latest developments in the country's humanitarian situation and ways to enhance the IRC's efforts in implementing its relief and development programs, particularly in the fields of health, education, child protection, and women's empowerment, alongside emergency response efforts to address the worsening humanitarian challenges.

President Al-Zubaidi praised the important role of the IRC in providing support and relief to the country, affirming the leadership's commitment to easing difficulties to its activities to ensure aid reaches those who deserve it.

For his part, Miliband expressed his appreciation for the cooperation and facilities provided for the IRC's activities, reiterating its commitment to continuing its humanitarian interventions and contributing to alleviating the suffering of citizens.

The meeting was attended by Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, member of the STC Presidium, head of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission (CRC) supporting the PLC, and Dr. Saleh Mohsen Al-Haj, head of the Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Authority at the General Secretariat of the STC Presidium.
