President Al-Zubaidi Gets Briefed on New School Year Preparations by Education Minister

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met on Monday with Minister of Education Tariq Salem Al-Akbari.

During the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi received a detailed briefing from Minister Al-Akbari on the ministry’s preparations for the new school year and its coordinated efforts with local authorities to ensure a smooth return to education across all governorates.

The meeting focused on key challenges facing the education sector, particularly the ongoing teachers’ strike in several governorates. In this regard, President Al-Zubaidi reiterated his support for the teachers’ legitimate and just demands, affirming that the PLC understands these concerns and is working to find solutions that address their grievances while enabling them to fulfill their educational mission amid current economic conditions.

President Al-Zubaidi voiced confidence in teachers' recognition of the exceptional circumstances the country is facing and their readiness to fulfill the call of patriotic duty by resuming their vital role in educating future generations, despite pressing challenges.

His Excellency also reaffirmed the STC leadership’s support for the Ministry of Education’s efforts, stressing the importance of intensified work to secure students’ right to education and overcome obstacles in this critical sector, thereby ensuring the school year begins as scheduled.
