President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and vice chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), conducted on Monday an inspection visit to the Aden Refinery.
Upon arrival at the company headquarters, President Al-Zubaidi was received by members of the administrative body and technical staff, led by Eng. Saeed Mohammed, Acting Director General and Deputy Executive Director, who accompanied the President on a field tour of production units and vital company facilities.
During his visit, President Al-Zubaidi chaired a meeting of the company's administrative body to closely review ongoing efforts to re-operate this important economic facility and urgent requirements for the next phase.
President Al-Zubaidi received a detailed briefing from Acting Director General Eng. Saeed Mohammed on current technical work to restart several units. These include a mini-refinery unit expected to produce approximately 6,000 barrels per day of fuel oil and diesel, alongside a vacuum distillation unit for asphalt production, slated to resume operations in early August. Work is also underway to maintain the refinery's power plant to enhance sustainable production efficiency.
In his directive during the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi emphasized that Aden Refinery represents a strategic economic artery for the homeland. "We recognize the scale of challenges and difficulties facing the company, but we believe you are equal to the responsibility. Today you face a real test, and we are fully confident in your ability to overcome difficulties and reoperate the refinery efficiently. We will stand with you, providing all possible support—as soldiers advancing with you—in rebuilding and modernizing this economic facility to restore its leading role."
In turn, the acting director general and all company staff expressed profound appreciation to President Al-Zubaidi, affirming that the visit represented significant moral support and a powerful incentive for them to exert maximum efforts to complete rehabilitation and restart operations to enable the refinery to resume its vital role in serving the country and citizens.
