President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), received on Monday, at his residence in the Saudi capital Riyadh, H.E. Suhail Ijaz Khan, Ambassador of the Republic of India to Yemen.
During the meeting, they reviewed the strong historical ties and rich heritage connecting us with the Republic of India. In this context, President Al-Zubaidi praised the Indian community in the capital, Aden, highlighting their significant cultural and civilizational contributions, which still resonate through their diverse contributions to this day.
The meeting also discussed means of bolstering bilateral cooperation in a range of fields, particularly security, economy, health, and cultural exchange, to serve the shared interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.
At the end of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi expressed deep appreciation for the humanitarian aid provided by the Government of India to support our people during these difficult circumstances. The Indian Ambassador, in turn, articulated his thanks and appreciation to President Al-Zubaidi for his efforts in strengthening bilateral relations and affirmed that the government of his country looks forward to enhancing joint coordination, particularly on security aspects, to safeguard maritime navigation routes and ensure regional stability.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, a member of the STC's Presidium and Head of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission (CRC) supporting the PLC; Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, Head of the Political Commission assisting the Presidium of the STC; Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, Mr. Imad Mohammed, office director of the Vice President of the PLC; and Mr. Saleh Al-Quaiti, Advisor to the Vice President of the PLC.
