President Al-Zubaidi emphasized in a speech delivered via video call at the inauguration ceremony in Washington, D.C.—attended by political experts, stakeholders, and representatives of the Southern community in the United States—that the launching of this mission marks a pivotal moment in the political and diplomatic efforts of the South and embodies the sterling will to represent the people of the South and their just cause on the international stage while strengthening ties with American society and its political and intellectual institutions.
President Al-Zubaidi added, "We look forward to active partnerships to promote peace and development in the South and the entire region, and we are working with full commitment and responsibility to expand constructive engagement with regional and international partners.
President Al-Zubaidi lauded the tireless efforts of the STC’s teamwork in the United States, as well as the pivotal role played by the Southern community in the diaspora since the beginning of the Southern movement, and highlighted that the opening of this mission marks the first step toward establishing representative offices for the STC in key global capitals to convey the voice of the South to the international stage.
At the end of his remarks, President Al-Zubaidi expressed confidence that these diplomatic steps will help restore all the rights of the people of the South over their land and asserted by saying, "A brighter future is within reach."
