President Al-Zubaidi Attends Massive Public Festival Hosted by Local Authority Marking Socotra Visit

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), attended on Tuesday evening a massive public festival organized by the local authority in the Socotra Archipelago Governorate, which was held at the Sa'ad Ali Salmeen Stadium in the city of Hadibu to mark his visit to the governorate.

President Al-Zubaidi delivered a brief speech at the festival, which was attended by local authority officials, the Local Leadership Executive Body (LLEB) of the STC, social personalities, dignitaries, and a large rally of citizens from across the archipelago. In his address, the president expressed his thanks and appreciation to the people of Socotra for their grand hospitality, warm reception, and the delightful celebration of the visit to their governorate, highlighting that Socotra, with its vibrant tourism and the influx of visitors from around the world, reflects the South's potentiality to rise and excel again due to its unique inherent characteristics, which integrate the centrality of its strategic location, the beauty of its land and natural resources, and the steadfastness and resilience of its people."

In his remarks, President Al-Zubaidi addressed the large rally of Socotra's residents, saying, "Please rest assured that we stand with you and alongside you, and we will dedicate our utmost efforts to serving the people of Socotra. From our position in PLC and the government, we are going to support the local authority and secure the rights of its people in development, public employment, and opportunities for training and qualification.”

The President added, "Socotra is dear to us all, and each of us bears a moral and national responsibility to protect it, safeguard its place on the World Heritage List, and foster its development so that it retains its status as a global tourist destination. This can only be achieved by concerted efforts and working as one team to maintain the security and stability the island enjoys and working diligently, each from their respective position of responsibility, so that Socotra remains a symbol of peace and harmony."

In his speech at the event, President Al-Zubaidi highly appreciated the fraternal stances and immense humanitarian role of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in bolstering Socotra Archipelago Governorate and other governorates, reaffirming that their genuine stances will always remain a source of pride and honor for our people, now and forever.
