President Al-Zubaidi Urges Rapid Implementation of Matrix Designating Houthi Militia as FTO

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met on Monday with Interior Minister Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Haidan and several senior ministry officials.

During the meeting, the President was briefed by Maj. Gen. Haidan and the ministry officials on the workflow in the ministry, the current state of security readiness, and the level of preparedness of the security services, including the performance of the ministry's affiliated departments and authorities, as well as the services provided to citizens across the liberated governorates. In this context, President Al-Zubaidi stressed the importance of operating from the ministry's headquarters in the capital, Aden, to ensure more efficient and effective performance.

The meeting focused on the recent U.S. decision to reclassify the Iran-backed Houthi militia as an FTO. In this context, the president stressed that this decision places high responsibilities on the Ministry of Interior, specifically security measures at maritime, land, and airports, highlighting the need to ensure high preparedness to counter any potential threats.

President Al-Zubaidi emphasized the importance of expediting the implementation of the cabinet matrix on the decision to redesignate the Houthi militia as an FTO, heightened vigilance, and robust coordination among security services to maintain stability and safeguard public tranquility for citizens.
