President Al-Zubaidi Chairs Special Meeting with Heads of LLEBs and Several Secretariat Departments

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), chaired a special meeting today, Tuesday, with the heads of the local leadership executive bodies (LLEBs) of the STC in the governorates of the South, as well as the heads of several departments of the General Secretariat of the STC's Presidium.

At the beginning of the meeting, attended by Major General Kamal Hamshari, a member of the Presidium of the STC, and Acting Secretary-General and lawyer Niran Souqi, head of the Humanitarian Aid and Relief Commission (HARC) assisting the Presidium of the STC, President Al-Zubaidi expressed his congratulations to all the attendees on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and praised the collective efforts that have been made to strengthen the presence of the STC across various levels.

Following this, the President reviewed the latest developments on the political and diplomatic scene, affirming that the STC is increasingly influential in regional and international politics. This follows a series of meetings held by the STC leadership with international delegations, representatives of various countries, and key decision-makers, which has solidified the South's position as an active political force in the region.

In his remarks, the President touched on the severe economic situation and ongoing crisis, which has directly affected citizens' livelihoods, indicating that the Central Bank is facing significant challenges in carrying out economic operations due to the halt of oil exports for over two years by the frequent attacks on the oil export facilities by the terrorist Houthi militias, which account for more than two-thirds of the public budget, stressing that the current situation demands maximum efforts from all parties, particularly the PLC and the government, to find urgent solutions to overcome this crisis.

The meeting then discussed a range of organizational aspects related to the work of the Council's bodies, with a focus on the restructuring process. In this regard, President Al-Zubaidi emphasized the need to expedite the completion of the remaining procedures within the tasks of the local bodies, highlighting the importance of leveraging all available expertise within the STC to promote performance, aligning with responsibilities entrusted to the STC as a political entity representing the aspirations of the people of the South.

Furthermore, the meeting reviewed the relief efforts within the framework of the national, humanitarian, and social responsibilities of the STC to provide aid to the families of martyrs and the wounded, as well as poor and needy families during the holy month of Ramadan. In this context, the President commended the efforts made by the LLEBs in distributing the food baskets of the STC, with the support of the United Arab Emirates last year, underscoring the importance of improving the distribution mechanism this year to ensure that aid reaches those in need across all the governorates of the South.

At the end of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi listened to a number of remarks and suggestions raised by the heads of the LLEBs and the secretariat department heads regarding the topics discussed, and the appropriate decisions were taken in that regard.
