President Al-Zubaidi Highlights Boosting Coast Guard Capabilities and Strengthening Maritime Security

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (LPC), met today, Monday, with Major General Khaled Al-Qumali, Head of the Coast Guard Forces.

During the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi was briefed by Major General Al-Qumali on the progress of work within the authority, the level of readiness and preparedness among its personnel to carry out their assigned tasks in protecting the coasts and territorial waters, as well as the efforts being made to enhance operational capabilities in the field of maritime security.

The President also listened to a report on the outcomes of the preparatory workshop for the Yemen Maritime Security Partnership (YMSP) Conference, which was recently held in the Jordanian capital, Amman. His Excellency emphasized the importance of leveraging its outcomes to boost the capabilities of the Coast Guard and improve mechanisms for international cooperation in the field of maritime security.

President Al-Zubaidi praised the efforts made in developing mechanisms for maritime security partnerships, stressing the importance of boosting security readiness and strengthening joint coordination with regional and international actors to protect territorial waters and combat various maritime threats.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Imad Mohammed, office director of the Vice President of the PLC.
