President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), held on Tuesday, on the sidelines of his participation in the Davos World Economic Forum (WEF), a session of bilateral talks with Mr. Andrii Sybiha, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
Both sides reviewed bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, and ways to promote them and prospects for cooperation that serve mutual interests were discussed, too. In this context, the two sides discussed the humanitarian aid provided by Ukraine to our country, especially wheat.
In the meeting, attended by Mr. Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, member of the STC's Presidium and Head of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission (CRC) supporting the PLC, and Mr. Amr Al-Beidh, member of the STC's Presidium and Special Representative of the President of the STC for Foreign Affairs, both sides discussed the shared security threats posed by Iranian schemes in the region and ways to counter them.
On the sidelines of his Excellency's participation in the WEB, President Al-Zubaidi met on Tuesday evening with His Excellency Fuad Hussein, deputy prime minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, where they discussed strengthening bilateral ties and cooperation across multiple sectors, in addition to exchanging views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
During the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi also reviewed the recent political and economic developments in the country, reaffirming that the STC relies on its Arab brothers to play an active role in supporting efforts to bring about peace, security, and stability to Yemen and the region.
It is worth mentioning that the president has engaged in a series of high-level meetings with officials from international organizations, research centers, and think tanks. Moreover, his Excellency met with the heads of several leading international economic institutions, like the Chairman of the Munich Security Conference and the President of the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research.
