President Al-Zubaidi Discusses with Ambassador of Djibouti Coordinating Joint Stances to Safeguard International Shipping Lanes

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), received at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, His Excellency Dya-Eddine Said Bamakhrama, Ambassador of the Republic of Djibouti to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

At the beginning of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi cordially welcomed Ambassador Bamakhrama, praising the deep-rooted fraternal relations with the Republic of Djibouti, and highlighted the importance of strengthening and solidifying these historical ties in a way that mutually serves the best interests of the two brotherly countries.

The meeting discussed the latest humanitarian and political developments amid the deepening crisis, rapid ongoing escalation, and the continued attacks of the Houthi militias in the international shipping lanes in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab, and the Gulf of Aden.

The meeting shed light on coordinating security efforts between us and Djibouti to safeguard international peace and security, combat maritime piracy, and protect international navigation in the strategic waterway.

In this regard, President Al-Zubaidi placed high importance on the role of Djibouti in coordinating joint stances of the countries overlooking the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden to secure the vital international shipping lanes and promote cooperation between Arab and African countries in the region.

Furthermore, the President lauded the significant humanitarian role of the brotherly Republic of Djibouti in hosting our displaced citizens on its lands, conveying his sincere gratitude to the government and brotherly people of Djibouti for their support and assistance to alleviate the suffering of the displaced individuals amid the difficult circumstances facing the country.

For his part, the ambassador Bamakhrama reiterated his country’s backing for the PLC and its readiness to provide all forms of support to restore stability and bring about peace both in the country and the region as a whole.
