President Al-Zubaidi Expresses Gratitude for China's Humanitarian Assistance

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, the president of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and deputy head of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), has received at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Monday Mr. Zhao Cheng, the acting ambassador of the People's Republic of China (PRC) to Yemen.

During the meeting, bilateral relations with the PRC were reviewed, as were ways to enhance joint cooperation to serve the interests of the two friendly countries.

The meeting also discussed the latest developments related to the ongoing Houthi escalation in international shipping lanes in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandeb, and the Gulf of Aden and its impact on international maritime navigation, in addition to the endeavors that have been exerted by the regional and international communities to cease the war and bring about peace to the country.

Furthermore, the meeting reviewed the dire humanitarian conditions in the country that have been exacerbating our people's suffering due to the deepining economic crisis and ongoing Houthi targeting of the vital economic facilities. In this context, President Al-Zubaidi appreciated China's pivotal role in supporting our people during their ordeal, highlighting Beijing's humanitarian interventions and development contributions to vital sectors such as fisheries, ports, agriculture, and post-war infrastructure rehabilitation.

For his part, the Acting Ambassador of the PRC has reiterated the commitment of the government of his country to backing the PLC and the efforts of the government to alleviate the suffering of citizens and provide them with essential services.
