Grand Funeral Procession of the Martyr Col. Ahmed Mohsen Al-Sulaimani Al-Awlaqi

A large funeral was held on Wednesday for the blessed martyr, Colonel Ahmed Mohsen al-Suleimani Al-Awlaqi, the chief staff of the First Shabwa Defense Brigade. Among those present senior officials are Mr. Fadi Baoum, a member of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Mr. Mohammed Al-Shaqqi, Assistant Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the STC for Governorates Affairs, Sheikh Lahmar Ali Laswad, head of the local leadership executive body (LLEB) of the STC in Shabwa, and Sheikh Awad bin Al-Wazir, Governor of Shabwa Governorate. 

The crowds of mourners performed the funeral prayer over the blessed martyr, Colonel Al-Sulaimani Al-Awlaqi, at the late Nasser Al-Khulaifi stadium in the city of Ataq, and then the funeral ceremony began with a solemn funeral procession to the martyr’s hometown in the Al-Mathnab area, where the body of the martyr was laid to rest, in the midst of deep sorrow and sadness that prevailed among the crowds of mourners.

It is worth mentioning that late high-ranking staff was martyred in a terrorist cowardly ambush in the Al-Musaina area, in Shabwa, and has been met with an outpouring of grief, as Baoum, al-Shaqqi, and Lahmar have offered their sincerest condolences and deepest sympathies to the family and relatives of the martyr, praying to Allah, the Almighty, to bestow upon him His vast mercy and forgiveness and to dwell him in His spacious paradise, considering the martyr's passing a great loss to the South and the governorate.

Baoum, al-Shaqqi, and Lahmar have paid tribute to the martyr's national and militant roles since the launching of the Southern National Liberation Movement, highlighting his lifelong commitment in defending the land of the South, maintaining security and stability, and his outstanding social contributions, exemplary character, good conduct, and positive impact that distinguished the blessed martyr.
