President Al-Zubaidi Meets with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), along with the Chairman of the PLC, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, and Vice Chairman of the PLC, Mr. Othman Mujali, met on Sunday on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, known as Abu Mazen.

The meeting reviewed the deep-rooted fraternal relations that have existed with the brotherly state of Palestine, explored ways to coordinate joint positions, and exerted efforts to cease the ongoing conflict in occupied Palestine and alleviate the humanitarian suffering endured by the brotherly Palestinian people.

The President reiterated the unwavering commitment of the STC and the PLC to supporting the aspirations of the Palestinian people for an independent and sovereign state within the 1967 borders, as per the provisions of the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant UN resolutions.

During the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi called for an immediate cessation of the war in the Gaza Strip, lifting the siege on the Palestinian people, and allowing humanitarian aid to enter the Strip and other Palestinian areas, reiterating his condemnation and rejection of Iran’s interference and its tools in the affairs of the Arab world.

President Al-Zubaidi confirmed in the meeting with Abu Mazen that the terrorist Houthi militias are exploiting sympathy for the Palestinian people to mask their crimes and violations committed against citizens in the areas they control, and are working hard to exploit the Palestinian cause to implement Iran’s expansionist agenda in the region.
