STC Presidium Oversees Ongoing Preparations for Second Session of the National Assembly


The Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regularly scheduled meeting today, Monday, headed by President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC, in the presence of the STC's ministers and heads of auxiliary bodies.

The Presidium stood before the ongoing preparations for the second session of the National Assembly, scheduled to take place in Shabwah Governorate. In this respect, the Presidium received a comprehensive report presented by the Chairman of the Assembly, Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, outlining the progress made in preparing the session's documents and the issues and files that will be discussed. 

Following its review of the preparations for the second session of the Assembly, the Presidium has directed the preparatory committee to continue its work and finalize the required arrangements for the session to be convened at a later date, commending the exceptional efforts of the local authorities and security services in Shabwah Governorate in ensuring the smooth and secure convening of the session, as well as articulating their appreciation for the enthusiastic public interaction and warm welcome expressed by the people of Shabwah to the decision to hold the session in their governorate.

In a separate context, the Presidium commended the substantial efforts undertaken by President Aidarus Al-Zubaidi, in his capacity as Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), to support the forces countering the Houthis in the governorates of North Yemen, lauding the outcomes of President Al-Zubaidi's recent meeting with tribal sheikhs and dignitaries from Sa'ada Governorate and reaffirming their unwavering support for these efforts aimed at establishing a robust resistance movement capable of liberating the region from the grip of the Houthi militia and its extremist sectarian ideology.

In the context of its meeting, the Presidium shed light on the latest political and security developments in the region, with a particular focus on the frequent acts of terrorism and piracy perpetrated by the Houthi militia against commercial vessels in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab Strait, and Gulf of Aden, reiterated its strong condemnation of these attacks, which have caused severe damage to both the local and global economies.
