President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), has directed the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (PIC) to address international organizations, urging them to expedite the relocation of their headquarters to the capital, Aden, and to open bank accounts at authorized banks in Aden.
This came during a meeting held at his office in the capital, Aden, on Monday morning with the Minister of PIC, Dr. Waed Badheeb, his deputy, Dr. Nizar Bashuaib, as well as the undersecretaries of the ministry, Mr. Mansour Zaid Haidara and Mr. Wajeha Al-Shurmani. President Al-Zubaidi stressed the importance of the Ministry following up with accredited international and non-governmental organizations operating in Yemen, which are still carrying out their tasks from Houthi-controlled areas, to proceed with the relocation of their official headquarters to the capital, Aden.
President Al-Zubaidi expressed his appreciation to the international organizations that have expedited the relocation of their official headquarters to Aden in the past two months, reaffirming the readiness of the legitimate authorities to provide all support and assistance to UN, international, humanitarian, and relief organizations operating in the country, ensuring a safe environment for them that enables them to implement their projects and activities in all areas and in various fields with complete independence.
For his part, the Minister of PIC expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to President Al-Zubaidi for his keenness and follow-up on the efforts exerted by the ministry to provide a safe and stable environment for UN and international organizations and to oversee their humanitarian interventions implemented throughout the governorates.
Dr. Badheeb further affirmed the unwavering commitment of the ministry to removing all obstacles that hinder international organizations from relocating their headquarters to the capital, Aden, and opening bank accounts at banks approved by the Central Bank in Aden.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Saleh Muhsin Al-Haj, Director of the Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Authority (FAEA) of the STC, and Mr. Imad Muhammad, Director of the Office of the Vice Chairman of the PLC.
